Are you feeling scattered now that you're having to work from home? We've put together a list of three main points of your business that you'll want to to make sure you have taken care of during the COVID-19 quarantine.

  1. ? ? ? Make sure someone is answering your phones

Just because you might not be in office does not mean your clients and customers will stop calling. They'll still need to cancel or reschedule appointments, make new appointments, or find out what changes you are making during this time. If no one is there to answer the phones, this can lead to angry customers or the loss of customers. If you have a quiet, distraction-free area in your home, along with the extra time, you can forward your calls to your cell phone. However, this can take the effort and focus away from the multitude of other things you will need to keep up with during this time. Might we suggest a different option: Find a reliable, around-the-clock answering service to handle your calls during this time.

  1. ? ? ? Make sure your office communication is top notch

Communicating client and customer needs to your coworkers is easy when they are just down the hall, but when everyone is suddenly located across the city it can be difficult to make sure everyone is updated consistently. We recommend apps such as Slack or Google Hangouts to help with instantaneous communication within the office. When communicating with customers, we recommend masking your cell phone number when dialing out. This lets you keep your cell phone number private while continuing to contact everyone in need. If your calls are routed through an answering service, they can mask your number as well.

  1. ? ? ? Remember to keep moving

It's important to bring in some new scenery every now and then, especially when you're not seeing co-workers face to face. Make it a point to stand up and move throughout the day. It will help keep you from feeling stir crazy throughout the day and help to retain some normalcy while working from home. Another good idea, if you are able, is to move your office outside for an hour or so every day. This will let you get some fresh air and sunshine; vitamin D is always good for the soul.
